There's a Whole Lot to do in Jackson Hole, Wyoming
You know that cozy and comforting feeling you get when watching Hallmark movies during the holidays? Well, that’s exactly how it feels stepping foot in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It starts from the minute you land at the airport, which feels just like a cabin in the woods. After a quick 15 minute drive, you’ve arrived to the Town Square where boutiques, amazing food, and Jackson Hole’s world famous bar awaits.
There’s really a whole lot to do in Jackson Hole, so let’s jump right in, starting with where to get a drink to keep you warm:
BARS
Million Dollar Cowboy Bar is the most popular and famous bar in town. Once you enter, you’ll understand why. There are pool tables soon as you walk in, and saddles at the bar instead of regular stools. Every night, there’s live music for patrons to enjoy while sipping on a drink. They also have your typical bar food, but the really good food is downstairs at Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse. Get the lobster tail and mashed potatoes. You won’t be disappointed.
Stop inside Teton Tiger for a drink while shopping on the town. The hand crafted cocktails are really good and the inside is such a vibe.
SHOPPING
The Town Square has tons of shops and boutiques with unique western pieces like belts, fur coats, flannels and so much more. The best way to see all the shops is to walk around and go inside places that catch your eye. I bought a cute camo Sherpa jacket from a store called Pendleton. The boutiques Midnight Lunch and Penny Lane also had really cute clothes.
RESTAURANTS
All of the food we had in Jackson Hole was SO good and I’m not exaggerating. Here are the places that I loved and what I recommend getting to eat:
The Local (for lunch): get the amazing smoked buffalo wings
The Blue Lion (for dinner): get the seafood scampi
Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse (for dinner): get the lobster tail and mashed potatoes
SNOWMOBILING
Going snowmobiling was such a fun way to see the breathtaking snowy mountains. Along the way we also saw animals like elk that our tour guide pointed out. The drive to the snowmobiling spot was about 30 minutes and we stayed out there for an hour and a half, but could’ve gone longer if we wanted to. Teton Tour company provided all the gear we needed and had super friendly staff.
SKIING
I went skiing for the first time and got lessons from a local at Teton Village (also known as Jackson Hole Mountain Resort) and our hotel provided free shuttles to and from the village each day. I recommend getting your lift tickets online ahead of time because the line can get really long. The slopes open up at 9 a.m.
At Teton Village we ate breakfast at The Four Seasons’ restaurant the Handle Bar the first morning, and Mangy Moose Cafe & Bar on our last day. Both were great food options to get the day started.
HOTEL
Marriott Cloudveil is conveniently located in Town Square, so all the shops and restaurants are just a few steps away. The hotel has a pool, jacuzzi, gym, shuttles, live music in the lobby, and provides each guest with a high quality water bottle to take home. I also love that each floor has a place where you can refill your water bottle and grab snacks like trail mix on the way in and out of your room.
A wedding brought me to Jackson Hole for my first time, but I will definitely be going back. It’s such a beautiful and scenic place that has so much to offer.
