Experience a NASCAR Race in Person and You'll Fall in Love

If you go to a NASCAR race in person, you’ll fall in love. No, seriously. There’s only so much you can experience by watching it on TV, but in person, it’s an experience like no other. There’s the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover,” and that should also apply to experiencing things too. NASCAR isn’t boring, it’s the exact opposite actually. For starters, grab some ear plugs because it’s LOUD at NASCAR races. The roaring of the 3,300 pound car’s engines is a unique sound that’s hard to describe, because nothing quite compares. It’s so exciting and exhilarating.

If you’ve never been to a race before, it’s time that you go. Just imagine the excitement that you get from going to basketball or football games and multiply it. There’s this high energy circulating throughout the race track that makes you locked in. And the fans surrounding you are locked in too, all 89,000 of them to be exact at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

There are some things in life you just have to experience in person. Someone can tell you all about a place, but it’s a totally different story when you experience it for yourself. Pictures and videos just don’t do some things justice. One of those things, is NASCAR races. If you didn’t grow up around it or have friends interested in it, then you probably never ended up at a NASCAR race. But that’s how some things in life are. It just takes that one experience or one person to expose you to something new and BAM, you’re hooked.

At speeds nearing 200 miles per hour, the professional drivers endure 120 to 130 degree temperatures inside the car, and there’s no air conditioning. So the next time you think “All they do is drive, I can easily do that,” think again. 2018 Daytona 500 winner Austin Dillon’s dad, Mike Dillon, describes the feeling after finishing a race to running a marathon. Drivers sometimes lose up to ten pounds during a race. Pretty crazy, isn’t it?

It’s a completely different sporting event than basketball, football, or baseball and the same goes for the experience you get when you’re there. So the next time you want to experience something new, go to a NASCAR race. You won’t regret it.
