Luxury Shopping in Europe (Barcelona, Spain): What you Need to get the Discount (VAT Refund)

“Shopping in Europe is so much cheaper.” For the longest, I’ve always heard about the benefits of shopping in Europe, but it wasn’t until my recent trip to Spain that I got to experience it firsthand (well, sort of). I say sort of, because while I did some light research about designer shopping and discounts before my trip, I never read anything detailing what you actually need to fully reap the benefits.

Your passport.

If you plan on buying any designer items while in Europe, you need to physically bring your passport with you to the store to be able to get the VAT (value added tax) refund.

Under Canvas is the Perfect Glamping Way to Experience the Outdoors

The idea of camping can be intimidating if you didn’t grow up staying in cabins or tents in the outdoors. It’s easy to shy away from it, but “glamping” (glamourous camping) offers the perfect happy medium. Under Canvas is an upscale camping experience provider with 10 U.S. that you need to add to your travel list.

There’s really no better way to experience some of the United States’ most beautiful wonders like Horseshoe Bend and Grand Canyon other than fully immersing yourself into the outdoor experience and going camping. Under Canvas’ campus and accommodations made me feel in touch with nature but also not far from modern day amenities like still having a normal shower, toilet, and mirror.

Virginia Highland Books is a Charming Indie Bookstore

The corner of Virginia and Highland avenues found its missing piece with the opening of indie bookstore Virginia Highland Books. The Virginia Highland neighborhood is known for its unique and quirky boutique shops, restaurants, and cafes. The one thing missing was a bookstore, and now they have it.

There’s something special about getting lost in a good book. Page after page, losing track of time when a book is too good to put down. It’s reminiscent of being a kid, and this independently owned bookstore gives you that feeling. When you first walk in there’s a table with staff recommendations and hand written notes attached. You can find the hand crafted notes all throughout the store, which adds a personalized touch as you explore the two-level bookstore.
